Do I need a ticket?
Yes. Due to demand and for safety, this is a ticketed event. Children under 3 do not require a ticket.
What are the opening times?
The Halloween event is on Saturday 31st October, from 2.30pm to 7.30pm. Tickets are timed: please enter the site during the 30-minute window shown on your ticket. This helps us manage crowd flow safely.
Do I need to arrive exactly at the time on my ticket?
Your ticket shows an arrival window, not a fixed start time. You can arrive any time within that 30-minute slot.
Can I get in without a ticket, or buy one on the day?
No. Entry is strictly by pre-booked ticket only. We expect the tickets to sell out, and once sold out thatβs it.
How do I access the Halloween Trail?
The entrance is on Mattock Lane, via the single gate.
This is the What3Words location (///charmingly.leans.forks)
Here is a map to the Mattock Lane Gate entrance to the event https://maps.app.goo.gl/Af1huUDQ4FzjgSq6A
Volunteers will be on hand to guide you in and direct you to the start of the trail.
Will I need to queue?
There may be a queue at busy times. The queue will form from the access gate, back along Mattock Lane (eastward) and down Radbourne Walk. We work hard to keep things moving.
Can I bring a buggy or pram?
We strongly advise not bringing a buggy. Buggies cannot go onto the trail as the paths are unsuitable. We have a very small buggy park just inside the access gate, but items are left at your own risk. Please note: the event exit is on Occupation Lane, so if you leave a buggy at the entrance you will need to walk back via Radbourne Walk and Mattock Lane to collect it (approx. 10 minute round walk)
Is the site accessible? What about visitors using walking aids, mobility scooters or wheelchairs?
Northfields Allotments is a historic, working allotment site with narrow, uneven and sloped paths made from grass, earth and woodchip. These surfaces can become muddy or slippery in wet weather, and there are no paved or level routes through the event area.
Because of this terrain, the site is not suitable for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, or other wheeled mobility devices, and we are unfortunately unable to provide safe access for visitors who rely on them.
Visitors who use walking aids may attend, but please be aware that the ground is very uneven throughout, and the trail requires confident mobility on rough outdoor surfaces.
Do you have toilets onsite?
Yes. We have two composting toilets and additional temporary toilets available.
Can I pay by cash or card?
Tickets are sold online in advance. On the day, any refreshments will accept cash or card.
We will have a BBQ and Bar plus tea and cake on sale.
Can I bring a bike?
No. Bikes cannot be taken onto the trail, and we do not have bike parking onsite. Please leave them at home.
How do I get there by public transport?
Weβre a short walk from:
- Northfields Station (Piccadilly Line)
- West Ealing Station (Elizabeth Line)
- Bus routes on Uxbridge Road, closest stop to the entrance is Dane Road (207, 483, E7)
- Bus routes on Northfield Avenue, closest stop to the entrance is Dean Gardens/Mattock Lane (E2, E3, E8)
Follow signs or look at our map.
My ticket time is after sunset 4:34pm, will the path be lit?
Weβll have some lighting, and many of the decorations will look great after dark. We recommend you bring a torch if you can to help navigate the paths safely.
Where does the money from ticket sales go?
We try to keep tickets as cheap as possible. This event is only possible due to the help from all our volunteers. All of those people working the Bar, BBQ, Cake Stall and Stewarding are giving up their time to volunteer at this event.
All profits from the event go directly to Northfields Allotments, supporting:
- Site improvements
- Wildlife and habitat projects
- Maintenance of paths, trees, hedges, and shared spaces
- Our Future Fund, where we save 50% of event profits to help protect the site should it ever be under threat of development again
Every ticket helps keep the allotments thriving and open for the community.
We look forward to welcoming you and hope you have a fun spooky time.
